WGN & Dahl Both Slide in November Ratings
Arbitron released the Chicago November PPM numbers yesterday. While we enjoy perusing these numbers each month, this month is particularly compelling, as this ratings period represents a period of time after the baseball season and the in the heart of the 2008 election. So which Chicago stations benefitted most?
In the overall persons 6+ rankings, WBBM-AM maintained its grip on first place, followed by Citadel’s WLS-FM and WLS-AM.
WGN-AM dropped from second place all the way down to seventh, due in large part to the end of the Cubs seasons.
WSCR-AM also suffered from the end of the baseball season, dropping from a 2.9 to a 1.7, tying the station with rival sports talker WMVP-AM.
Other disappointing showings were turned in by WKQX-FM, which dropped to a 1.6. Meanwhile, CBS’ WJMK-FM continues to flounder with a 1.8 for the third consecutive month.
Looking at the so-called “money demo” of persons 25-54, the big winner was WVAZ-FM, which took the top spot, followed by WDRV-FM, WOJO-FM, and WBBM-AM.
Conspicuous by its absence from the persons 25-54 top 20? WGN-AM.
In morning drive, Eric & Kathy on WTMX-FM are on top of the heap, while mid-days belong to WDRV-FM and WOJO-FM owns afternoon drive.
Conspicuous by his absence from the persons 25-54 top 20 in morning drive? Steve Dahl.
