LeBaron Dumped From Fresh-FM

CBS’ adult contemporary WCFS-FM 105.9’s morning man Mike LeBaron exited the station after two years on the job. The move comes early in the tenure of Bill Gamble, who arrived at the station nearly three months ago as program director.

When it launched with much fanfare almost two years ago, Fresh-FM 105.9 set it sights on WLIT-FM and WTMX-FM, trying to slice a piece of the coveted female 25-44 audience. The station has struggled to establish itself, and LeBaron placed 19th in morning drive in the 25-54 demo.

It’s clear that Gamble is laying the foundation for the line-up of talent that he wants in place. His last stint in Chicago consisted of presiding over the slow, downward devolution of 94.7 The Zone until ABC pulled the plug in 2005, almost exactly four years ago.

LeBaron had been twittering here but has not updated his account in over a week. His MySpace page is here.
