As a former news director at WGN Radio & Television, I opine that Dave Stewart was the best City Hall broadcast reporter since Mike Neighoff, who was (among the) first broadcast beat reporters when he was at WBBM-TV. Stewart has done a wonderful job over the years. His dismissal, along with the ouster of former news director Wes Bleed, are sad developments at a station I called home for 37 years.
